I purchased a Thunder Max with Auto tune, because it appeared to be slightly better than the SERT which I have on my other bike Road King custom. Put the Road King on a DYNO after similar mods.

A full kit of creative tools for sound, graphics, music and interactivity in a visual environment.

The Free Library of Max for Live Devices. Would there be a way to make this device respond to MIDI keyboard input, and only tune to the note played by the keyboard, instead of locking to a scale?

With Max 7, you can:
– Create: Make your own tools for sound, graphics, music and interactivity in a visual environment.
– Patch: Connect boxes together to make interactive sounds, graphics, custom effects, and rich experiences.
– Connect: No matter what you have on your table — Arduino, controllers, synthesizers, DMX lighting, projectors, live inputs — you can probably make it talk to Max.
– Experiment: Quickly patch together an idea, make a working prototype, or develop a complex interactive system.

Modular by Design
Max is built on the idea of connecting things together to make something new. Connect plugins, media players, and custom DIY effects, or build something completely from scratch. Embed Javascript, Java, GLSL shaders, or compile your own C objects if you like programming too. Max provides everything from the most basic nuts and bolts to advanced effects modules that are ready to use. Mix, match, and tinker without limits.

Experiment
We thrive in the unexpected and improbable. Quickly patch together an idea, make a working prototype, or develop a complex interactive system. Patching in Max encourages exploration and invites you to change your mind.

What’s new in Max 7.2?
MPE and Polyphonic MIDI
Max 7.2 presents new objects for the management of MPE MIDI streams, and includes updates to existing objects to manage MPE and polyphonic aftertouch. This new functionality makes it possible to use MPE enabled controllers, especially the Roli Seaboard Rise, also Madrona Labs Soundplane and the Linnstrument.

Max/MSP is a graphical programming environment, which means you create your own software using a visual toolkit of objects, and connect them together with patch cords. The basic environment that includes MIDI, control, user interface, and timing objects is called Max. Built on top of Max are hundreds of objects, including two powerful collections from Cycling ’74:

  • MSP, a set of audio processing objects that do everything from interactive filter design to hard disk recording.
  • Jitter, a set of matrix data processing objects optimized for video and 3-D graphics.

Max Features:

  • Create and run an arbitrary number of applications and tasks, depending on the memory and processing speed of your computer.
  • Design cross-platform programs and user interfaces interactively using hundreds of modular objects and UI widgets.
  • A series of over 40 interactive tutorials teach you to use Max step-by-step.
  • Interactive on-line help gives you a working demonstration of every object and its features.
  • A fast and easy way to use your computer to control hardware (or vice versa) using systems such as Teleo from Makingthings or the iCube from Infusion Systems.
  • Built-in support for an unlimited number of MIDI input and output streams (using MME on Windows and Core MIDI on Macintosh). Plus support for serial devices and mouse tracking.
  • Quicktime movie playback.
  • Interactive program editing and debugging features, such as foreground/background, message tracing, object inspectors, intelligent copy and paste.
  • An easy-to-use cross-platform SDK for extending the software that’s been adopted by a large community of users letting Max do everything from networking to statistics. (Check out the Max/MSP Resource Guide for some examples.).
