If you have a collection of old or new vinyl records, you may well want to expand your experience beyond just chilling out and absorbing the sound from your usual HiFi speakers.
Fortunately, the modern record collector has plenty of options to combine the old of the analog with the modern digital age. Here are some things you can do.
The easiest thing to do if you're open to getting a new turntable is pick one up with built-in USB and or Bluetooth. Traditional (or old, if you prefer) turntables will require an external amplifier to produce a sound you can hear, but many modern ones have a built-in phono pre-amp so you can bypass this altogether.
AutoTune analyzes sampled sounds in frequency space to allow you to tune all of your sounds to the same frequency! Download amanda cook songs. Just simply enter the note you want to use as the base for all of your sounds, such as C3, and then simply drag your samples onto the application, and voila!
So, if you get one with Bluetooth you'll be able to connect directly to your favorite wireless speakers or headphones. It's no more difficult than connecting any other Bluetooth music player.
Likewise, if you purchase a turntable with a USB connection, you're able to hook it up directly to your PC to retrieve the music. By setting the turntable as an audio input device on your PC you can even use the speakers on your PC then to hear your music.
Brands like Audio Technica make some solid turntables with these features for around $150.
Transfer your Vinyl to digital music files
The alternative, and a useful one for those with older turntables already that have no USB or Bluetooth features, is to convert the music to a digital file with Audacity. The general principle still involves hooking up your turntable to your PC, though you'll need some kind of interface to do that.
Something as simple as this $20 device from Behringer will do the trick. Don't confuse it with a DAC, which turns a digital file into an analog sound. What you want is the reverse of that.
From there you can either listen to the music through the PC as detailed above or use the free and most excellent application, Audacity, to convert your albums into digital files you can listen to wherever you are.

- #2Have you done a full reset to factory settings on the TV and then gone through the Digital Tuning process?
We have a KDL32EX723 in the bedroom which is a stunning set, and not had any issues, but we were already digital when we bought it. However our Panasonic Plasma which we had used on analogue had to be reset on DSO to get it to do a proper full scan.
The only other issue I have with the Sony is that it seems very prone to HDMI interference on its tuner, and if I use the 'wrong' cable for my WD TV Live box, it kills two multiplexes dead. So do a retune with no HDMI devices plugged in and see if that helps too. - #3On our 2 Sonys, the tuning features for analogue and digital (freeview) are in different places on the menu. Autotuning refers to just analogue - so this wont find any channels now that analogue signals have been switched off. You need to find the Digital Auto Tuning option. Btw, if you have never used the tv in its digital tuner mode before, then it might be easier if you switch to it first by pressing the 'Digital' button on the remote control.
- #4Cheers - think the restoring of factory defaults would be good but all the codes I've tried so far don't work. Any Sony codebreakers out there?

Where do you live ?
What transmitter do you use ?
What is the full model code for your TV ? - #6North Yorkshire, Bilsdon I think - whatever it is I can get everything working on a smaller telly, it's just the KDL 26L 40xx that won't play. One of the codes started with pressing info followed by 5 on the remote which seemed to get somewhere (switched it on from standby) but the subsequent use of vol+, analog, centre and so on had no further effect.
Thanks Mark! - #7Hi
I have KDL 37EX6723 and have no problems setting Digital channels. I presume you have external aerial.
Kirit - #8The telly I tested the connection with is another Bravia - resetting to default is it's only hope I think?
- #9Found this but never had to use it on my Sony --- just go into 'Home' 'digital set up' and 'scan' - never had an issue.
Quote :'First power off your Sony television using remote, then Press Display + 5 + Vol Up + Power button simultaneously on remote'
Best of luck.
